Aashna Pal

Hi, I’m Aashna Pal! I’m a Multidisciplinary Graphic Designer. Recently, my chosen form of media has been motion design! My two Final Year Projects showcase my ability to navigate through different workflows within TouchDesigner or After Effects. I’m quite interested in learning how to develop blob tracking and particles to form movement and objects. I also love nostalgia! My work focuses heavily on themes of childhood and how colour reflects emotions through graphic and motion design!

Passage

Passage is a project about interpreting a chosen passage of text into motion design. I wanted to explore and expand my use of the software Touchdesigner, creating something that goes beyond traditional usages of that medium. I mainly processed and developed media in Touchdesigner and later on composited that media into After Effects.

My chosen passage of text is from Carl Sagan’s ‘Pale Blue Dot’.

The Scene

The Scene [The Hours Between] is a 5 minute short film visually representing liminal spaces and combining aesthetics of 80’s vaporwave to communicate loneliness in the apparent lively street life of London.

This film also depicts scenes of childhood and depersonalisation.
