Alexander Piper

I am Alexander Piper, a final year student at UAL studying Graphic and Media Design. I primarily focus on 2D and 3D motion design with extensive knowledge of After Effects and Blender. I also have a big interest in other aspects of video editing, using DaVinci Resolve on many projects when doing freelance work for companies.

Passage

This project challenged me to create a piece of motion reflecting written text. I used one of my own songs, Sundown by STOP THINKING, creating a visualiser for it which would follow themes of the lyrics and match the tempo and switches as the track progressed. I used After Effects for this piece of work, finishing with a final colour grade in DaVinci Resolve.

Back Around Music Video

For this project I set my own brief, to make a 3D animated music video for the song Back Around for STOP THINKING. The video follows the lead singer entering a dream world in which he comes across the other band members. I used Blender for the production of this project and DaVinci Resolve for post editing.

Room Of Reflection

For this project I tasked myself to create a drug awareness campaign video. I used the low-poly style of 3D animation which was trending at the time and created an eerie room to reflect the life of someone who is going through addiction. I used Blender to produce this project and DaVinci Resolve to edit it in post.
