I’m Bahar, a junior Motion Designer based in the UK, with an interest in animation and a little bit of 3D. I’m a designer always looking for new techniques and having lots of fun while designing things and animating them!

The Growing Forest

The Growing Forest is a mixed-media animation project combining handcrafted physical sets with digital animation. The forest environment was built completely by hand using materials such as foam, sponge, wire, carpet, clay, and plastic leaves, while the animals were animated digitally afterwards.

This project began as an emotional and symbolic piece, exploring how different animals represented parts of my creative journey: confidence, hesitation, hidden skills, and uncertainty. The handmade forest became a metaphor for growth: messy, slow, imperfect, and filled with hidden life.

The Elevator Adventures

In this project, I aimed to re-create the funny and relatable moments from our everyday lives. Inspired by my own experiences, I believe these moments connect with many others. I created expressive characters in a vibrant and playful style, aiming to reflect the joy and humour found in our daily interactions.

Passage

This project is a short animation about how small acts of kindness can spread from one person to another. The story takes place in a dark and quiet town where a small white cat wanders alone in the rain. One stranger kindly shelters the cat under an umbrella, creating the first spark of light. The cat then follows this glowing spark as it travels through the city, slowly spreading warmth, kindness, and connection to others. By the end of the animation, the once cold and lonely town becomes filled with light and warmth, showing how one small act can grow and affect the whole world.

I used Blender to model and paint the buildings, After Effects to create the magical spark effects, and Procreate on my iPad for frame-by-frame animation and painted textures.
