Hi, I’m Rahmah Waheed!!

I’m a London-based graphic designer focused on visual storytelling through editorials and publication design. My practice explores how narrative and image work together, spanning graphic design with a growing interest in creative direction across both print and digital spaces.

Beyond Adornment

I created a publication exploring jewellery in South Asia, focusing on adornment before and after the Partition of India in 1947. The project explores the lasting impact of colonisation through jewellery, examining how women carried, concealed and redefined wealth and financial security through what they wore. Through photography and editorial design, the publication presents a visual journey across generations, identity and cultural memory.

Silence

This project explores architecture within public spaces, investigating what remains when visual noise such as signage, adverts and surface distractions are stripped away. The work reveals the structures, shapes and spatial rhythms that exist beneath these layers, communicating ideas of silence, abstraction and observation within the built environment. Using the postcard format as a starting point, the project considers how postcards intentionally frame places and act as souvenirs of space and memory. Through gelli printing, editorial design and print experimentation, the outcome includes a zine and postcard series exploring reduction and visual interruption.

Chai Chahiye

Chai Chahiye (pronounced chay-yeah) is an Urdu phrase meaning “Do you want tea?”, reflecting South Asia’s deep-rooted connection to chai and shared ritual. This publication explores texture, colour and composition through brewing rituals, shared moments and the pouring of tea, alongside short interviews capturing personal connections to chai across different regions. Through editorial photography and visual storytelling, the project celebrates chai as both a cultural tradition and a shared social experience.
