Ariosto imagined the Moon as such a place. There, everything lost on Earth is kept intact. Everything we have loved in vain eventually falls there, waiting to be mourned.
In "Orlando Furioso", Astolfo is taken to the Moon to recover the reason Orlando has lost through love. This publication begins from that image of the Moon as an archive of lost things. It follows a journey from Earth to the lunar surface, moving through disappearance, extinction and myth.
Only the Moon remains out of reach, and I still do not know how to get there. Perhaps you are already there, preserved among everything I could not keep.
