MATCH-US Island Version is a soft and poetic interactive experience developed from my earlier web-based MATCH-US system. While the original version focused on multi-player cooperation through shared tasks and rule-based interaction, this version transforms the idea of connection into a more intuitive and emotional experience.
In this version, participants use hand gestures to guide small hand-drawn houses falling from the sky. When the houses are brought into the moon, they are collected and gradually transformed into floating islands on the sea. Each house represents a small personal trace, while each island becomes part of a shared visual world.
The project explores how people can feel connected through indirect participation. Participants may not know who created each house, but they can still interact with traces left by others. In this way, the system creates a quiet cycle of contribution, transformation, and shared memory.
Rather than focusing on winning, scoring, or completing a clear game task, MATCH-US Island Version invites participants to slow down, observe, and gently influence the digital environment. Through simple actions, such as moving, collecting, and transforming houses, the project creates a sense of co-presence and subtle connection.
The soft pink sky, pale yellow moon, blue sea, and hand-drawn houses create a dreamlike digital space. This visual direction supports the emotional tone of the project and turns interaction into a calm, reflective experience.
